Showcase Productions, Inc. was the original packager/producer of much of the prime time, live, dramatic, color, long-format (60/90/120 minute)programming which appeared primarily on NBC during the period between September 1954 and September 1957. The most notable series which Showcase produced and packaged was the acclaimed PRODUCERS' SHOWCASE series of 37 "spectaculars" which generally ran once a month. Showcase also packaged and produced, during this time frame, THE GOODYEAR PLAYHOUSE, THE ALCOA THEATER, THE PHILCO TELEVISION PLAYHOUSE, and PONTIAC PLAYWRIGHTS '56. In addition, Showcase packaged/produced individual programs which ran as part of THE KRAFT TELEVISION THEATER (later renamed THE KRAFT MYSTERY THEATRE), LUX VIDEO THEATRE, HALLMARK HALL OF FAME, ROBERT MONTGOMERY PRESENTS (and its many title variations), and other series. Showcase packaged/produced THE STANDARD OIL 75TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, and THE FORD 50TH ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM.

Two written settlement agreements between Showcase and NBC recognize Showcase's sole ownership of 160 programs, and its joing ownership with NBC of 650 additional programs. Most of the information on this site is devoted to the PRODUCERS' SHOWCASE series; streaming video claips are available for many of the programs, either through the "Search the Library" function, or through the "List of Productions" function. It is anticipated that in the near future, similar sites will be established for the other series.
